A veteran paranormal investigator has died under unexplained circumstances while leading a haunted artifact tour featuring the infamous “Annabelle” doll.
Dan Rivera, 54, was conducting his Devils on the Run event in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2025, when he reportedly collapsed mid-tour. Witnesses say Rivera appeared to be in good health earlier in the evening, speaking energetically about the doll’s history and alleged supernatural activity. Despite immediate emergency response, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Annabelle doll—housed for decades in the Warrens’ Occult Museum before touring paranormal events—is tied to numerous legends of curses, accidents, and strange occurrences. While medical officials have yet to release an official cause of death, Rivera’s sudden passing has reignited debate over whether the doll’s reputation is rooted in coincidence, psychological suggestion, or something more sinister.
Friends and fellow investigators described Rivera as a passionate and meticulous researcher who often reminded audiences to respect the objects he showcased. Organizers have suspended the remainder of the tour pending further announcements.
